Debbie Dieter-Barker, PT, DPT

Debbie Dieter-Barker, PT, DPT, is the founder of TruCare Physical Therapy. She graduated from University of Maryland with a BS in Kinesiological Sciences in 1987, Kean University/UMDNJ in 1989 with a B.S. in Physical Therapy, and in 2013 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Utica College. Debbie's past experience includes working side by side with team physicians from the New York Giants and the New York Mets. She has extensive experience and continuing education attendance in rehabilitation for throwing injuries. She believes the key to developing a successful treatment plan is effective communication with the patient and physician, pinpointing the source of the problem through a thorough evaluation, and rehabilitating the dysfunctional component using the vast academic knowledge and clinical experience she has gained over the years.She prides herself on success where other attempts at physical therapy have failed.

Linda Van Leeuwen, PT, DPT

Linda Van Leeuwen graduated summa cum laude from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey in 2012 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelors of Science in Biology from Ramapo College of New Jersey. Linda has worked as a physical therapist in the outpatient orthopedic setting since her graduation in 2012, and was a physical therapy aide for 5 years prior. She also works per diem in an acute care hospital on a monthly basis. Linda has taken many continuing education classes that include SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment), Mulligan and Maitland mobilization techniques, as well as Running analysis and injury prevention. She has also taken Kinesio Taping Levels I-III and is recognized as a Certified KinesioTape Practitioner. Linda enjoys working with patients across the lifespan with various injuries and conditions. Linda has completed a number of marathons and shares her passion for running as an Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach at Ramapo College. She excels at working with runners and other athletes looking for return to sport. Linda prides herself on providing high quality, compassionate care and is happy to be able to do this as a member of the TruCare team.

Colleen Starczak, PT, DPT

Colleen Starczak graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University in Boston, MA, where she completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Rehabilitation Science in 2001 and her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy in 2002. She began her career in northern Virginia and has worked in New Jersey since 2004. Colleen has spent her professional career in outpatient settings, as she particularly enjoys treating patients with a wide array of orthopedic injuries. She has completed an impressive list of continuing education courses, spanning topics such as treatment of sacroiliac joint dysfunction, advanced treatment techniques of shoulder and foot/ankle conditions, and various mobilization techniques. In addition, she has completed Kinesio taping courses levels I-III and regularly utilizes taping techniques with her patients. In 2011, Colleen furthered her academic achievements with the completion of Temple University’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. Colleen is also one of the few therapists in the area with training and experience focused on women’s health conditions. She has completed a number of courses through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, and applies her unique knowledge and skills when working with women affected by urinary incontinence, interstitial cystitis, pregnancy-related conditions, and pelvic pain. Above all, Colleen prides herself on providing compassionate, holistic care of the utmost quality.

Triessa DeSimone, MPA, LMT

Triessa DeSimone is a graduate of The Institute for Therapeutic Massage’s Oncology Massage Program. Her bodywork training includes medical massage, Swedish massage, deep tissue, myofascial release, and manual lymphatic drainage. Triessa’s experience ranges from spa work to hospital-based massage. She has worked with patients during chemotherapy, radiation, hemodialysis, and both outpatient and inpatient hospital stay. Triessa thoroughly enjoys providing massage therapy. She wholeheartedly believes that touch is a powerful way to connect with others and feels that every massage is an opportunity to facilitate the body’s natural ability of healing and balance. Prior to becoming a massage therapist, Triessa received a B.S. in Public Health from Richard Stockton College, a Master of Public Administration in Health Services from Fairleigh Dickinson University and continues a career in health administration as the Office Manager for TruCare.

Alexandra Barlow, BS, CPT

Alexandra Barlow is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Alexandra has been working in health and fitness since 2011 gaining experience with patients in nursing homes, surgery centers and cardiac rehabilitation centers in addition to being certified in CPR, First Aid and AED through the American Red Cross. She currently works as a Physical Therapist Aide at TruCare Physical Therapy and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Montclair State University. With the help of licensed Physical Therapists, Alexandra will provide exercise programs to patients that will assist in the maintenance of the progress made during physical therapy at TruCare.
